Dec 2011 - Christmas Cake Competition
This year’s judge for the Christmas Cake competition was
Mark Perrin, the Trust Financial Controller who visited 8 of our homes which had entered this year’s competition.
Mark had a really difficult task to find the winner but after much deliberation, decided that this year ‘s winner was Southfield House, with Chandos House and Jack Parkinson as our two runners-up.
’s cake was made as a result of chatting to their residents and asking them about their Christmas dinners when they were younger.
The one thing that summed it up was that they all said the table was set beautifully and the food was a feast for a king.
As you can see from the picture, the cake was made to resemble a Christmas dinner meal complete with turkey, sprouts and Christmas pudding.
The winning cake was judged by
Nigel Reed, alongside the other 3 winning cakes from the other counties to decide the overall Trust Christmas Cake winner but unfortunately we were pipped at the post by the entry from Wiltshire.
Well done to everyone involved in this year’s competition.
