Jun 2011 - Volunteers buffet lunch

This year, we held our annnual Volunteers Day on Monday 13 June in a marquee in the grounds at Fosse House in Lincoln.  The day is a chance for us to formally thank our volunteers for the myriad of tasks they undertake within our care homes.

Long service awards were presented to June Cooper and Brian Munday who have each done 20 years service at Boultham Park.  They were presented with a framed certificate, flowers/wine and M&S vouchers.

Two volunteers from Gregory House, Josephine Mason and Rosemary Shepherd, have both completed 10 years service, and Pat Douglas, Maggie Page and Jean Goodyear, all volunteering at The Poplars, have each completed 5 years service.  They were all presented with a framed certificate and M&S vouchers.

The awards were presented by Beth Harding, Operations Manager for Lincolnshire County, who after many years service, will be retiring from the Trust in July 2011.  She, in turn, was presented with some flowers by John Wass, a volunteer from Digby Court in Bourne.

The presentations were followed by a delicious buffet lunch and entertainment was provided by the GI girls singing a medley of popular songs.

Volunteers are one of OSJCT's most valuable assets and are truly appreciated not just on days such as this but EVERY DAY.
