Nov 2008 - Music for Health
This month we were visited by Music for Health who brought their workshop which promotes health and well being to Ridgeway House. Their workshop was divided into 10 sections and was based on research on the positive and powerful effects that music and sound frequencies have on health. The sections ranged from audience participation with instruments, a quiz, singalongs and listening to music. A number of our residents remarked on how enjoyable they found it.
Plates were waved in time to the music to improve upper body strength and mobility. Luckily they weren't breakable!
Ina enjoyed the cheer leading
Other instruments included maracas, handbells and tambourines
