Mar 2010 - March 2010
Spring is in the air this month with the residents writing a poem together on 'Spring Time'. It is always such a thrill to the residents when we end with a poem written by themselves. This is another poem towards our book we are hoping to have published in the future!
'Spring Time'
We are now entering into the Spring Season,
Which gives us all great joy and a good reason,
To enjoy all the flowers that bloom,
Erasing all the dark days of gloom.
The wild flowers lift their perfect tiny heads,
While all winter long they have been in their beds.
The snowdrops remind us of the winter that has past,
Where the soft pure white snowflakes fell but did not last.
The daffodils remind us of the summer sun,
Long before that welcome season has begun.
The lambs that frolic and play until night is near,
And all the baby animals we hold so dear.
The Mad March Hare arrives as the winds do blow,
The Wind in the Willows sway to and fro,
The children look forward to Easter Day,
The Easter Egg Hunt as part of their play.
All the Easter eggs and chocolate are there to eat, And thats our Spring poem now complete!
A pamper session was also enjoyed by many of our residents with the valued help from Jan our Head Cook. The aroma of Lavender and Magnolia handcreams was heavenly, we massaged hands and soaked feet in a spa. Nails were painted in a variety of colours and we had a number of different perfumes for the ladies to try.
Fragranced floating candles were lit and tranquil music was played, perfectly selected for peaceful moments of relaxation and inspiration. We were so relaxed even Jan started to fall asleep!
As this week is Cheltenham Races, we are hoping to play are own Horse Racing Game, using rolls of wallpaper, card cut outs of horses and a large dice. We are naming it the 'Grevill Gold Cup'.
We are now looking forward to Easter and Easter activities. Any new ideas from residents, family and friends will be gratefully received.
HAPPY EASTER TO ALL
