Lifestyle
An integral part of delivering high quality care is the ability to provide a fulfilling lifestyle. We believe it is important to concentrate of what people can do, rather than what they cannot.

We foster close, two-way involvement with the local communities of which our homes and residents are an integral part and we offer a wide range of activities - both within and outside the homes - so that our residents can continue to enjoy and further develop their existing hobbies.
The much maligned “risk assessment” is used positively in the Trust as a tool to enable people to undertake safely activities with risk, not to prevent them. Therefore, we shall continue, for the adventurous, to organise holidays at the Calvert Trust activity centre in Devon, which has enabled residents to take part in activities like abseiling, archery, sailing, canoeing and horse-riding.
For the less adventurous, all our Homes have provision for a dedicated Activities Co-ordinator, whose role is to devise and implement varied activity programmes for their individual Home’s residents and day care clients.
We have recently entered into an arrangement with “Live Music Now”, so that Homes can enjoy concerts on their own premises in which residents can actively participate. The talent demonstrated in the art and craft classes run in many of our Homes, has led to residents now providing the designs for the Trust’s Christmas cards, through an annual competition open to all, and our new Isis Care & Retirement Centre incorporates a professionally designed sprung dance floor.
