We list below links to organisations which may be of relevance and interest to you. We hope you find them useful.  We should point out that The Orders of St John Care Trust is not responsible for the content of any of these websites.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is the organisation which inspects and reports care homes to improve social care and stamp out bad practice. You can find out more about CQC and also download recent inspection reports for all our homes on their website - www.cqc.org.uk .

The National Care Forum (NCF) is an umbrella organisation whose members comprise not for profit care providers across England and Wales. Its primary aim is to promote quality outcomes for people who receive care and support services. OSJCT is a founder member of this organisation, which we believe provides us with an important means of sharing best practice, keeping abreast of market developments and giving staff access to wider training opportunities. Learn more about the NCF on www.nationalcareforum.org.uk .

The Relatives & Residents Association exists for older people needing, or living in, residential care and the families and friends left behind. Relatives often need a listening ear to cope with feelings of guilt about their perceived inability to carry on caring. They may want to know how to get help in understanding the complex rules and regulations about paying for care or to complain about the quality of care their loved ones are receiving. You can find out more about the service this Association provides on www.relres.org

The Alzheimer's Society has worked with OSJCT to put together a bespoke training course - "Introduction to Quality Dementia Care". Almost all of our staff will benefit from this training, enabling us to provide even better care to the increasing number of our residents suffering from dementia or dementia-type ailments. The Alzheimer's Society provides information and support for those people learning to cope with dementia. www.alzheimers.org.uk

Two organisations dedicated to the interests of older people are Help the Aged - www.helptheaged.org.uk and Age Concern - www.ageconcern.org.uk. Both of these may provide you with useful and helpful information about all aspects of care.
