Volunteers are one of OSJCT's most valuable assets. By giving of their time they allow trained care and nursing staff to concentrate on what they do best, whilst also enhancing the quality of life of our residents.
Volunteers undertake a myriad of tasks within our care homes. These range from just sitting talking to residents one on one or in groups, to accompanying residents on outings or helping with activities, either outside or within the home.
We always try to match our volunteers' interests and views with those of our residents; this makes the experience enjoyable for both volunteer and resident and has led to many real friendships being formed over time. We have also found that our volunteers enjoy being part of a team, working to help our residents enjoy the best quality of life possible.
We are very grateful to our volunteers who give freely of their time to bring such comfort and practical support to our residents.
