Life with us at OSJCT
When residents come to live at OSJCT they not only keep doing all the things they've always enjoyed doing, but they make new friends and often discover new hobbies and activities to enjoy.
It’s the aim of everyone across the Trust to make life with us as stimulating and fulfilling as possible.
From carers and nurses to activities co-ordinators and chefs, our wonderful colleagues all complete our own training – The Care Certificate to ensure they fully understand and embrace a person-centred approach to care and spend time getting to know every individual to learn what they like and what is important to them.
Whether it’s wet or dry outside, we at OSJCT feel that activities are essential in providing the best caring environment to live in.
Hobbies don’t simply stop when living with us at OSJCT. We have a dedicated Activities Co-ordinators who works closely with our residents to create a programme of fulfilling activities and events, tailored around each resident’s requests, hobbies and interests. The programme of events and activities provide a source of fun and laughter, to help each resident live their life to the full and make new friendships.
Food glorious food
At OSJCT, we pride ourselves on delivering fresh, tasty and nutritious meals for all our residents.
As a new resident with us here at OSJCT the homes Cook, or Chef will spend some time discussing the preferences and needs of the individual. These preferences will be regularly reviewed with the resident and our home Catering team to ensure we understand the nutritional requirements and food preferences.
Beautiful homes and gardens
Each home has a unique look and feel but all are designed to be welcoming, warm and comfortable places to live in.
Where homes have outdoor spaces, they are kept beautifully maintained and set up for both relaxation and year-round activities where possible.
Our wonderful volunteers
Our fantastic team of volunteers help in a variety of ways. Befriending our residents to helping with county events, gardening to sharing their musical skills, looking after our home pets, even enjoying an evening beer in the ‘man shed’; our volunteers are there to help our residents live life to the full.
A warm welcome anytime
We always warmly welcome visitors anytime and encourage them to take part in activities and home events.
