The talented chef and kitchen team prepare tasty, home-cooked meals on site daily from our own kitchens. We source quality produce for our excellent breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. All-day dining is available for lighter meals and snacks and all dishes are carefully balanced to get the best nutritional value and cater for individual dietary requirements and preferences.

Seasonal produce is chosen whenever possible and of course, relatives and friends are always welcome to join us. The menus change daily and the kettle is always on. Our chef bakes every day so there is always a fresh cake for residents, friends and family to enjoy.

Each of the households has their own small kitchen dining room where residents can take their meals if they wish. Residents are also encouraged to help prepare their own food and to make snacks whenever they choose.

Meet the team

Home Manager

Angela began her career in the care sector as soon as she turned 18 following providing care to a family member at a young age, she  knew this was the career for her from that moment. She loves making a difference to individuals residing in the home and supporting her teams within their roles.
She has progressed within her career in a nursing home environment and throughout the last 11 years she has been privileged to have been provided the most outstanding training and support to be able to confidently manage Spencer Court and to support each and every staff member to achieve their goals and be the best they can be.

She has an NVQ level 3 in health and social care, a city and guilds accredited living in my world dementia qualification and she is currently In progress with her level 5 management NVQ. The dedicated team at Spencer court work with her to deliver the highest standards of person centred care and achieve the best outcomes in every aspect for each individual residing at the home.

She feels privileged to take care of people’s loved ones and treat each individual as she would her own family.

Spencer Court is a beautiful home situated in the outstanding community of Woodstock and we certainly take every opportunity to make frequent visits with our residents to the beautiful Blenheim palace.

Angela has lived in Oxford all her life and in her spare time she enjoys spending time with her daughter, partner & family,  reading and attending to her allotment.

Head of Care

Jane has worked at Spencer Court since 2012, starting her career as a carer before working her way up to care leader and now the head of care. Jane holds a number of qualifications in health and social care and has recently completed her level 4 diploma in Adult care and also holds a level 3 diploma in leadership and management.

Jane knew she always wanted to work in the care sector following caring for both Grandparents when she was younger. Jane has many fond memories of working at Spencer Court over the years and feels it a very lovely place to work, it feels part of a community and the residents and staff make it so warm and welcoming. She feels they are so lucky to have a link with Blenheim Palace which means lots of trips up to the Palace and grounds when the weather permits

Jane enjoys spending time with her young family in her free time including walking their dog, going on day trips and holidays. She enjoys gardening and spending time outdoors where she can.

Care Leader

Candy has been one of Spencer Court’s Care Leaders since 2017 and has over 20 years’ experience working in the care sector, holding Health and Social Care NVQs at levels 2 and 3. She started as a cook and then decided to step into the care team, eventually becoming care leader.

Candy loves talking to the residents and her caring nature means she finds it easy to be supportive towards them as well as towards her colleagues.

Chef

Elaine is our chef here at Spencer Court.  She joined us after a long career in catering which has seen her working in hospitals, private houses, pubs, and cafes.  Elaine has always loved working with food and has gained many qualifications in catering and hospitality as well as team management to support her practical experience.

Elaine enjoys working at Spencer Court; she says her team is like a little family in the kitchen and she enjoys working as part of that team. She loves preparing meals for the residents and ensuring they have a balanced and nutritious diet.

Building on that, Elaine’s goal is to see that each resident is happy with their meals and that she can provide the little extras they so enjoy so that everyone has their favourite things.

Out of work, Elaine loves gardening and DIY as well as Jazzercise. She even taught Jazzercise for five years! It helps keep her fit and well, emotionally and physically.

Carer

Julie is one of Spencer Court’s dedicated team of carers and holds an NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care.

With a particular fondness for working with older people and having always wanted a job that she could feel proud of, Julie decided to enter the care sector in 2006. Julie finds her role very rewarding; her days are busy yet satisfying and the residents she cares for always know how to make her laugh so there is never a dull moment.

In her spare time Julie enjoys a challenging herself with crossword puzzles.
