As a valued nurse at OSJCT, you’ll enjoy a great deal of autonomy and responsibility in this invaluable part of your career journey.
You’ll be drawing heavily on your extensive clinical expertise, while developing your leadership skills too – managing teams and role modelling the best ways of working.
And every day, you’ll get to see the positive impact your work has on the home and its residents’ health and happiness.
High levels of support
We simply couldn’t care for our residents without our team of skilled and caring nurses. You make a fundamental difference to the lives of the people we care for and we know it’s crucial you’re supported every step of the way.
That’s why we support you in your continual professional development, ensuring you have the skills and energy to meet our residents' needs with sensitivity, compassion and best practice nursing care.
We offer a wide range of in-house training, learning and development opportunities along with our leadership and management programmes – from accredited dementia care, right through to leading through change. And we cherry pick the best external courses for you to go on too.
We’re also working closely with leading clinical and academic organisations to ensure our practice development is right up-to-date – and therefore your training too.
You don’t need to worry about re-validation and PIN registration – we’ll pay for that.
Sharing best practice
We understand the crucial role nurses play in setting standards of care and making sure care teams are carefully meeting every resident's needs. So we encourage our nurses to communicate with each other regularly, while meeting up at regular OSJCT workshops and internal conferences. We also invite inspiring guest speakers to our events and help you network externally.
