Carer Leader / Team Leader

EXCITING OPPORTUNITY IN A BRAND NEW HOME!!

Location: Westbury on Severn

Salary: £10.32 (+ 30P QCF enhancement)

Hours of work: 20-30 per week

The Orders of St John Care Trust is the 2nd largest not for profit care provider in the UK specialising in providing high quality, person centred care for older people, in care homes and extra care housing. The Home

Westbury Court provides accommodation for 42 residents, some of whom have complex nursing needs. You will be joining a very committed team, led by a supportive management team. We develop our carers and recognize their abilities. A number of our employees have become shift leaders. We are open to suggestions and focus on solutions to problems. You will be encouraged to have your say and will be listened to. Quality of care is our focus and the way in which we have developed has been recognized by CQC at our last inspection. We achieved this by working together. We will welcome your input and, if you have a special interest in areas such as dementia, dignity, infection control, moving and handling, we can facilitate your development.

 

We are now recruiting a Care Leader to join our team!

As a Care Leader you play an integral part of the care team, you will be responsible for leading, managing and supporting your care team ensuring they are providing high quality of care and service to all residents at all times.

You’ll play a key part with care delivery in the home, ensuring care plans are regularly reviewed through continuous assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of residents care.

You will take an active part in engaging with residents to understand their lifestyle choices at a level and pace that values the individual and respects their dignity and communication differences. Working within the Care team you will show warmth, compassion and support to our residents and their families; helping to promote independence and dignity and positively enhancing the lives of individuals in our care.

Requirements for the Role:

For this role you must:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care or equivalent
  • Minimum 12 months full-time or equivalent work in a residential care setting with older people.
  • A sound knowledge and understanding of Dementia Care.
