Carer Leader / Team Leader

Location: Orchard House, Woodmans Way, Bishops Cleeve, Cheltenham, GL52 8DP

Salary: £9.94 - £10.24

Hours of work: Full Time & Part Time Hours available.

The Orders of St John Care Trust is the 2nd largest not for profit care provider in the UK specialising in providing high quality, person centred care for older people, in care homes and extra care housing. As a charity, we ensure that any revenue goes straight back into our homes meaning our residents and staff are well looked after.

 

Orchard House accommodates 50 residents, some of whom have complex nursing needs. The home is located within the heart of Bishops Cleeve and the nearby Cheltenham town can be accessed easily by bus. You will be joining an established team of nurses, carers and ancillary employees, some of whom have worked with us for 10 years or more. The team itself is supplemented by a group of volunteers who are very actively involved in delivering support to residents. You will enjoy the homely atmosphere of Orchard House where we promote friendly interactions between residents and employees.

 

As a Care Leader you play an integral part of the care team, you will be responsible for leading, managing and supporting your care team ensuring they are providing high quality of care and service to all residents at all times.

You’ll play a key part with care delivery in the home, ensuring care plans are regularly reviewed through continuous assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of residents care.

You will take an active part in engaging with residents to understand their lifestyle choices at a level and pace that values the individual and respects their dignity and communication differences. Working within the Care team you will show warmth, compassion and support to our residents and their families; helping to promote independence and dignity and positively enhancing the lives of individuals in our care.

Requirements for the Role:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care or equivalent or working towards
  • Minimum 12 months full-time or equivalent work in a residential care setting with older people.
