Care Leader/ Team Leader Nights

Hours: 24 Hours per week

The Orders of St John Care Trust is the 2nd largest not for profit care provider in the UK specialising in providing high quality, person centred care for older people, in care homes and extra care housing. As a charity we ensure that any revenue goes straight back into our homes meaning our residents and staff are well looked after.

Chestnut Court is located in Quedgeley, just outside Gloucester but with good transport links with the city. It is a modern home where residents with complex nursing needs as well as those with dementia live in four households, each accommodating 20 people. You will be joining a vibrant team of nurses, care leaders, housekeepers, caterers, maintenance and administrator. All of these are dedicated to enhancing the lives of our residents and supporting them to achieve as much as they can for themselves.

As a Care Leader you play an integral part of the care team, you will be responsible for leading, managing and supporting your care team ensuring they are providing high quality of care and service to all residents at all times.

You’ll play a key part with care delivery in the home, ensuring care plans are regularly reviewed through continuous assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of residents care.

You will take an active part in engaging with residents to understand their lifestyle choices at a level and pace that values the individual and respects their dignity and communication differences. Working within the Care team you will show warmth, compassion and support to our residents and their families; helping to promote independence and dignity and positively enhancing the lives of individuals in our care.

Requirements for the Role:

For this role you must:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care or equivalent
  • Minimum 12 months full-time or equivalent work in a residential care setting with older people.
  • A sound knowledge and understanding of Dementia Care.
