Maintain your independence in your own apartment with the reassurance of care and support when and how you need it.

Living in an apartment in an 'extra care' housing development gives you the reassurance of having care and support on call whilst keeping your independence and living in your own home. You'll have access to a personally tailored package of care and support from our onsite care team 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Even though you have your own front door and can come and go as you please, there are also communal facilities, such as comfortable lounges, delightful gardens and often a café or restaurant, so you can socialise with your neighbours if you want to. On most developments there is parking available, so you can keep a car.

Best of all, our care staff are on hand to help you in whatever way you need them, when it suits you. Our Housing & Care Manager will discuss your needs when you arrive and work out an individual care plan with you. If anything changes, you can adjust your plan accordingly with just a bit of notice.

There are a number of attractive developments in Oxfordshire, Suffolk & Wiltshire owned by leading housing association bpha where The Orders of St John Care Trust manage the extra care housing apartments, available for rent or on a shared ownership basis, as well as providing onsite care services:

We are members of ARCO (Associated Retirement Community Operators). ARCO is the main body representing the retirement community sector in the UK. All members have to abide by the ARCO Consumer Code – to download a copy of the Code that is designed to provide a benchmark for good practice within the housing-with-care sector please click ARCO Consumer Code.

Operators who sign up to the Code need to ensure that prospective residents are given clear and transparent information about fees and service charges well before they decide to move in. We aim to abide by all requirements of the Code.
