A report commissioned by OSJCT evaluating the role of Admiral Nurses in its care homes has concluded that they provide valuable additional support to residents living with dementia.

The University of Worcester conducted the research for this report, spending a year gathering information about all aspects of the Admiral Nurse role within a care home setting.  OSJCT was one of the first care providers to employ its own Admiral Nurses, who are trained by Dementia UK.  Funded by a grant from the Burdett Trust, the report highlights how Admiral Nurses provide significant, valuable additional support for residents living with dementia, but also for their families and the care team members working within the home, so increasing well-being and quality of life.  Read our press release and the full report, published here.
