Congratulations to Carer Hannah Callanan, who works at our Bemerton Lodge care home in Salisbury, who has been named National Carer of the Year.
Up against strong competition from across the care sector, Hannah's award was announced and presented at the 16th National Care Awards gala dinner, held at the Hilton London Metropole Hotel on Friday, 28 November.
Hannah, who has worked at Bemerton Lodge for some years, was nominated by Home Manager Ruth O'Dea. Her citation included testamonials from both residents and colleagues, all of whom sang her praises as a dedicated carer, who will do anything to ensure the well-being of those living at Bemerton Lodge. Hannah has had a particularly difficult year, personally, due to the premature death of her mother, making her achievement all the more noteworthy. Her father accompanied her to the gala dinner and was full of pride as his daughter received her award in front of the assembled 1000+ leading lights from the care sector.
Chief Executive of OSJCT, Andrew Cheesbrough, said: "We are all delighted and very proud of Hannah's achievement. This award reflects her hard work and dedication to delivering high quality care to our residents - something that lies at the heart of all that we do at OSJCT."
