Edwardstow Court in Stow-on-the-Wold welcomed the local community for Care Home Open Day.
The sun shone for Edwardstow Court’s open day and welcomed in visitors from 10am, the day started with a busy coffee morning where visitors made the most of the sunshine and sat outside and on their beautiful balconies.
In the morning Edwardstow welcomed Mindsong who ran a west end musical workshop and they sang with residents and visitors. Residents were able to sing along to musicals that they may have seen many years ago and this brought back some great memories.
The team served up delicious homemade cakes alongside hot drinks and displayed the artwork from Edwardstow’s residents. Edwardstow Court have been putting on weekly art classes in preparation for care home open day as the theme this year was celebrating the role of arts in care. The café area and the corridors were set up as art galleries, so everyone could enjoy their beautiful artwork.
In the afternoon Louise from Willow Tree Art ran a watercolour workshop which was enjoyed by visitors and residents. As the day was all about art Louise unveiled the beautiful map she has painted for Edwardstow Court of their woodland walk.
Members of the local community also displayed their artwork as part of the art exhibition for our visitors to see and enjoy.
