OSJCT The Lakes Care Centre celebrates with colleagues and residents following Care Quality Commission’s (CQC) report, rating The Lakes ‘Good’.
Mandi Short is no stranger to the care sector. For 31 years, the new Home Manager at The Orders of St John Care Trust’s (OSJCT) The Lakes home in South Cerney, Cirencester has cared for the elderly. Mandi is now celebrating with colleagues and residents following Care Quality Commission’s (CQC) report, rating The Lakes ‘Good’.
“I had been at The Lakes for just under six weeks before CQC came to inspect the home, and I am really pleased with the report. This is an indication of just how committed my wonderful colleagues and I are to the home and the residents. I am excited to see what we can achieve together in the coming months,” Mandi said.
In its latest report, CQC acknowledged Mandi’s effective management. “At the time of this inspection the home was being well-led and strong leadership was being provided.”
CQC also acknowledged other employees in the home, noting that care was provided in a kind and compassionate way. “Staff took into consideration their wishes and preferences and tailored people’s care around these. Staff showed an interest in supporting people to live well with dementia. This was particularly seen when supporting people to feel included and when helping them to take part in social activities. People’s dignity and privacy was upheld. Relatives and friends were made to feel welcome.”
And Summer is set to kick off a range of events and activities at The Lakes, which the community is encouraged to get involved in, as well as also offering a free meeting space for local health and social care, and emergency services professionals. The home can offer meeting space for up to 10 people in a comfortable and relaxed environment.
