Following on from our hugely successful Dementia Awareness Event back in February, we are hosting a Dementia Support Day on Wednesday 8th August 2019 from 2-7pm.

The day aims to bring together family and friends from The Lakes Care Centre, Cirencester community families supporting a loved one with dementia as well as anyone with an interest in learning more about Dementia. The day will consist of key speakers giving invaluable information regarding aspects of dementia care ie How the Memory works, Reminiscence therapy, Music therapy, and Financial and legal aspects of caring for a person with dementia.

The key speakers will be Sara Wilcox from Pathways Through Dementia, Nikki Rowe our Admiral nurse and Kate Hicks Beach from Mindsong. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet likeminded carers for much needed peer support as well as the opportunity to chat to our Admiral Nurse, Nikki Rowe, and learn about the support that the Admiral Nurse service provide, supported by Dementia UK. The day is free, informal and everyone will be welcome.
