His Royal Highness unveiled the commemorative plaque to mark the official opening of our newest home in Devizes
On 7 May, HRH The Duke of Edinburgh visited Hayward Care Centre, where he met many delighted residents and staff. Buglers from the Rifles Regiment, of which HRH is Colonel-in-Chief heralded the arrival of the royal VIP. After a tour of the home, HRH watched a game of skittles, and was offered some home baking before popping into the residents' bar for a chat. He then joined assembled guests for the unveiling of the commemorative plaque to mark the official opening, before signing the visitors' book and travelling back to Windsor Castle by helicopter in time for lunch with HM The Queen.
The excitment of the residents, staff and guests contributed to what was a truly memorable day.
