On Sunday the 19th August, residents and colleagues at The Orders of St John’s Grace Care Centre were treated to special Neil Diamond Tribute act.
There are a few artists in this world that can boast Worldwide success – whether you are a fan or not, chances are you have heard more Neil Diamond songs than you realise. The classics, ‘SWEET CAROLINE…., SONG SUNG BLUE…’ to name a few.
It was great to see a BIG turn out from friends and family members, as well as a few new faces from around Thornbury, who came in to enjoy the day with all of us here at Grace Care Centre. The new-found friends joined in on a good sing along with residents and family members.
We would like to thank Chris Hendy for his lovely and personal show; his interaction with the audience is top notch. Please take some time to view his Facebook page and of course catch one of his shows – nothing beats passion for one’s profession; Chris has this in spades.
We have had a busy week here with the launch of #icantbelieveitsacarehome, showcasing some of our excursions and activities we are able to provide for our residents. Here at OSJCT we not only have our dedicated team to caring for the individual needs during their stay with us, but also the individual’s interests and hobbies. This week saw some of our residents and staff visit an engineering showcase with a lot of history was on show here with some early engine models right through to present day locomotives, planes as well as boats.
Residents and staff also enjoyed making, creating and drinking their own unique flavours of ‘Mocktails and Cocktails, with our activities team lending a hand where they could.
A great week spent making some great memories together.
