On 11 February, the Rt Lord Remnant, CVO, unveiled the Foundation Stone for the Trust's new, state-of-the-art care centre at a ceremony on the site of the former Townlands Community Hospital in Henley-on-Thames.

Set for completion in Spring 2016, the new 64 bed care centre being constructed by VINCI Construction UK, will include three floors dedicated to providing specialist dementia care and will incorporate a number of features to promote reminscence as therapy.  The home will feature large bedrooms with en suite bathroom facilities, Sky and digital TV, Wi-Fi and 24-hour nurse call facility.  Each resident will have access to a household living area including a lounge, sitting room, kitchen and dining room.  There is also a central communal area for residents to access which includes a café, shop and hair salon.

The external area will provide a safe and secure garden for residents to access and will include a fully landscaped sensory garden with raised planters, vegetable patches and water feature.

Keep watching this space for updates on our exciting new development.
