Mad Hatters Tea Party

Lincolnshire residents were in for a real treat at the Mad Hatters Tea Party which was held at the Venue in Navenby on Thursday, 14 April.

Residents, carers and volunteers attended the event dressed up as various different characters from “Alison in Wonderland”.  There were some amazing Queen of Hearts, an assortment of hats and a brilliant Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum who really looked the part!

Our guests arrived from 1pm onwards and enjoyed entertainment provided by Toe Tapping Trev who encouraged residents to sing along to some traditional British classics.  He also supplied residents with musical instruments, so not only were they able to enjoy the singing but could also provide Trev with a musical accompaniment!

Our resident magician Brian Hellyer did a brilliant job as compere and performed some tricks along with creating many funny balloon hats!

Finally the perfect afternoon was finished off with the serving of a traditional afternoon tea.  Our residents enjoyed sandwiches, cream scones and fruit cake which were served on traditional cake tier stands.

This was the first Lincolnshire Mad Hatters Tea Party and judging from the smiles on the faces of our residents the event was a great success.
