Langford View Care Home welcomed the Mayor of Bicester to take part in its community art project on Care Home Open Day.
Care Home Open Day is an annual national event, where homes up and down the country open their doors to local communities and celebrate a different theme each year. This year’s theme was the role of arts in care, demonstrating how care homes are creative communities.
This is certainly true at Langford View, where residents were looking forward to proudly sharing their home and getting creative with the community.
A group of local artists from Orchard Baptist Church in Bicester attended to create a huge piece of community art in the form of a beautiful mural on the fence in Langford View’s gardens. Along with the Mayor, many families and members of the local community got involved by painting parts of the mural and decorating pebbles for Langford View’s garden.
Another talented local artist, Sign Em, created a specially-commissioned piece of art all about Bicester which she painted for Langford View. The finished article was on display at the home on the day.
Residents, Langford View colleagues and visitors enjoyed a beautiful day in the sunshine celebrating the arts at the home.
