The Orders of St John Care Trust’s (OSJCT) care homes rarely shy away from a celebration, and on Saturday 21 April, it will be no different.

The festivities will be in full swing across the Trust’s homes as the country marks National Care Home Open Day.

While the community is always welcome in OSJCT homes, this national day is particularly important because it gives the public an opportunity to find out more about their local OSJCT home and learn a little more about what good care should be, as well as meet with residents and the Trust’s team. It will give visitors the opportunity to see the impact carers have on a resident’s life. The day also coincides with Her Majesty the Queen's 92nd Birthday, and many of the day’s activities focus on this.

The theme for this year is Linking Communities, which will see homes across the United Kingdom celebrate the diversity in culture, people and relationships in OSJCT homes.

Many of the Trust’s homes are going all out to make this day as special as possible, and everyone is welcome! OSJCT’s Chief Executive, Dan Hayes, said “It’s great to see so many of our homes embrace National Care Home Open Day and host entertaining events for the community to get involved in. There are so many wonderful things about the Trust, and I really encourage members of the public to visit their local care home to meet the residents, the OSJCT team and have an enjoyable experience,”
