The Lakes Care Centre in Cirencester went to great lengths recently to celebrate its first birthday, and they certainly did it in style!
A huge effort went into arranging a spectacular vintage themed high tea, and it was a rip-roaring success.
One of the lounges in the home was transformed into the perfect setting for a party with lots of pretty balloons, flowers and bunting, and the tables were laid with beautiful tableware.
The residents were able to relax and take their time to enjoy the delicious treats prepared for them (along with countless cups of teas!), whilst spending precious time with their friends and families who were there to join in the fun. Singer, Kerry O’Dowd, who was a contestant on the popular television programme “The Voice” was there to entertain everyone with her wonderful singing.
The birthday party also coincided with the Nutrition and Hydration Week Global Tea Party.
The Lakes opened in March 2017 and it offers compassionate, individualised residential and respite care for up to 64 residents living with dementia. The specialist home environment has been designed specifically to enhance the quality of life of people living with dementia, and incorporates a number of features to promote reminiscence as therapy.
OSJCT wishes The Lakes a very happy birthday, and extends its congratulations to all involved in making this special birthday party one to remember!
