The sun shone in South Cerney for The Lakes Care Centre’s annual Summer Fete
Visitors to The Lakes were able to try their hand at being a clown for the day during the circus skills workshop or they were able to sit back and try to relax while watching the circus performance, which included fire juggling and knife throwing! If fire juggling wasn’t for you then we had a static bike set up by the Swindon Wheelers cycling group where you could pick a route to cycle and guess the miles you had done.
The Aber Valley male voice choir joined us after a long journey where they performed a few songs, the choir did not have any instruments and the sound was still amazing, our residents were delighted to hear the astounding choir.
The summer fete had an array of stalls for people to browse, plus a raffle, face painting and of course, candy floss. The fete was an opportunity for residents and visitors to guess the name of The Lakes Care Centre’s new mascot, the mascot is a fluffy toy duck and it will be accompanying residents on their trips out. The name of the mascot will be revealed soon, watch their Facebook page for more details.
Delicious cakes were being served alongside homemade sausage rolls and coconut ice, a vast array of volunteers attended to support the fete and serve the refreshments.
Thank you to everyone who came along and made the fete such a success, we were even blessed with glorious sunshine.
