Brookside Care Home is an established care home in Melksham and has been serving the local and wider Wiltshire community for over 40 years. It offers compassionate, individualised residential care for up to 50 residents, and has been awarded an overall Outstanding rating in its latest CQC inspection. Set in its own attractive and accessible grounds which includes a patio, summerhouse, greenhouse and an attractive enclosed garden to the rear, the home is situated in a quiet residential area, a short walk from Melksham town centre.
About the Home
Brookside offers an outstanding home environment. The private bedrooms are your personal haven and there is a comfortable and homely living area, a large open plan dining room and many snugs dotted throughout the home.
This warm and welcoming home is a well-established hub within community; being much loved and well regarded in the local area. It incorporates several features to promote reminiscence as therapy. The home’s design considers your wellbeing and comfort. Relax in our cosy lounge or on sunny days in our carefully tended gardens. Laugh with friends in our pub or treat yourself in our sweet shop. There is a large, open dining room where social activities take place daily for your enjoyment or if you’d like a little more privacy, then your own homely bedroom, offers a peaceful oasis.

A friendly, professionally trained team are on hand around the clock to give you the support you need when you need it. If you like to lead a fulfilling and independent lifestyle, we are here to help you, however you wish to spend your day. The Care Team consists of the Home Manager, Activities Co-ordinators, Chef, Carers, Care Leads, Housekeeping and a Handy Person.
Tasty, Home Cooked Meals
Brookside serves fresh, homecooked meals every day and there are always options to choose from. Incorporating home grown produce from our greenhouse and vegetable patch adds an extra dash of satisfaction. Brookside’s team operate ‘protected meal times’ meaning that when lunchtime comes around, all team members down tools and assist with service, enhancing the family feel.
A personal dining experience, you are free to take your meals in your room if you wish or you can join other residents in the main dining hall to enjoy your food in a more social
We understand how important it is to have daily activities to take part in and enjoy. Our dedicated Activities Co-ordinators organise a wide programme of events around each person’s requests, hobbies and interests. The team will be delighted to assist you to continue with existing hobbies, as well as give you the opportunity to try something new if you would like to. They make sure everyone can enjoy themselves to the fullest, be that with arts and crafts, a coffee morning or more individual pursuits. Visits from outside entertainers happen regularly and the home also gets out into the community as often as possible. Each resident receives one-to-one time with the Activities Co-ordinators and together they will work on their own personal activity plan and goals.
A typical daily activity schedule might include any of the following:

- ‘Pat dog’ visits (from a specially trained therapy dog)
