I qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1995 and spent 28 years working in the NHS, with a particular focus on acute medical and elderly rehabilitation wards. My final NHS role was as Ward Manager of a 32-bed rehabilitation and palliative care ward within my local community hospital.

A significant part of my career involved supporting older people to recover following falls, as well as putting appropriate risk management strategies in place to help prevent further falls. I joined OSJCT three years ago as a Quality Improvement Lead, where I have been able to draw on my clinical experience to support our care homes and services in implementing effective falls prevention strategies and helping to keep our residents and clients safe, well and independent.
