We support adults with learning disabilities whose needs may include:

  • Autism

  • Behaviour that challenges

  • Physical health conditions

  • Transitions from family homes, hospital or other services

Our approach: Positive Behaviour Support in practice

Our services are underpinned by a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) model, recognising that behaviour is a form of communication and focusing on understanding the underlying causes of distress.

Our teams work proactively to support wellbeing and prevent situations escalating, helping people feel safe, understood and in control. This includes:

  • Recognising early signs of anxiety or distress

  • Using personalised, preventative strategies

  • Supporting emotional regulation

  • De-escalating situations safely and respectfully

  • Minimising the need for restrictive interventions

Training and governance

Practical training is delivered through Team Teach, equipping colleagues with the skills to maintain safety while preserving dignity and positive relationships.

Support plans are developed collaboratively with the individual, their family and professionals, ensuring care reflects personal preferences, strengths and long-term goals.

I am very grateful for all the support you give my brother and appreciate all the work you all do and excellent job.

Our supported living services enable adults with learning disabilities to live in their own homes while receiving tailored support that promotes independence, choice and confidence.

Support levels vary according to individual needs, from scheduled visits to 24-hour on-site staffing, and may include:

  • Personal care and daily living support

  • Medication management

  • Developing life skills and independence

  • Emotional and behavioural support

  • Participation in community activities

We work closely with housing providers, commissioners and families to ensure placements are sustainable and aligned with long-term aspirations.

Residential care

Our residential homes provide a safe, stable and supportive environment for adults with learning disabilities and complex needs, including people living with dementia or age-related conditions.

We focus on promoting independence and quality of life while providing consistent, high-quality care tailored to each individual. This enables people to remain in a familiar setting as their needs change over time.

Residents live in comfortable, well-equipped homes with skilled staff available 24 hours a day to support daily living, medication and personal care. We work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure each person receives appropriate ongoing support.

With a strong emphasis on community inclusion, we encourage participation in social activities, education, volunteering and everyday opportunities that build confidence, connection and a genuine sense of belonging.

Our aim is to help people feel secure, respected and valued while maintaining the highest possible level of independence.

We've visited many care homes but can honestly say the motivation, caring and efforts of the staff at Buckingham Road surpasses anything we've seen elsewhere.
