Spreading Joy: Christmas Hopes and Highlights

Compassion underpins who we are.

That’s why we asked our homes to share their highlights from last Christmas, and what they are most looking forward to this year.

“Last Christmas I loved being around everyone – pulling crackers and drinking wine spritzers! I’m looking forward to seeing all of the different Christmas activities that we have planned.”

“I have worked here for nearly 5 years, and the Christmas fun truly starts when the tree goes up in reception. I love the feeling I get when I walk on to the floor and see the residents who are so happy to see me and what we have planned for them that day.”

"What I enjoyed about last Christmas at Avonbourne was the build up, decorating the trees with the residents and enjoying a Christmas movie together in the cinema. We also plan a visit from the donkey or their favourite entertainer singing in the coffee shop. This year we are looking forward to the pantomime "Little Miss Riding Hood" where we will be joined by the students of Old Sarum Primary School."

“My favourite thing about last Christmas has to be seeing how happy my family were… and maybe getting a little tipsy on the wine spritzers here! I can’t wait to see the children coming into sing from the local school as it makes me think of my grandchildren.”
