Administrator at Wantage care home has been hailed as a Shining Star in Trust Awards
OSJCT Shining Stars Employee Awards
Vicki Clifford-Jones, an Administrator at OSJCT Stirlings care home in Wantage has been selected as a winner in OSJCT Employee Awards 2020. The Trust, which employs over 5,200 staff across its homes and offices, selected 48 winners from a shortlist of 129 finalists.
Vicki, who joined the Trust in 2019, has been awarded Newcomer of the Year. She was nominated for settling into her role well, being professional and positive and supporting the team at the care home. She interacts well with residents and is a great advocate for the Trust especially when showing potential residents and relatives around the home.
Vicki said: “I am thrilled to have won this award. OSJCT Stirlings is a very busy care home and every day is faced with different challenges. The team here all work so hard to ensure that the resident’s stay at Stirlings is happy and all their needs are catered for.
“The most rewarding part of my role is supporting new families from when they first contact the home to make an enquiry, to finally moving their loved one in. I see families go through one of the hardest decisions they will have to make. And then within a few weeks, their relative settles in and the family know that they made the right decision.”
Patsy Just, Area Operations Director, Oxfordshire, and a member of the judging panel, said: “I would like to thank Vicki for her wonderful contribution and congratulate her on winning this award. It is so important to celebrate and recognise the wonderful achievements of colleagues from across Oxfordshire, each and everyone has gone out of their way to improve the lives of those living in our homes. We absolutely appreciate and value their contribution.”
