Armistice Day at The Coombs
Residents and employees at The Coombs care home in Coleford, operated by The Orders of St John Care Trust (OSJCT), paid their respects on Armistice Day with a special service at the home.
Local cornet player, Kristyann Symonds, joined the service, performed by Coleford Baptist Church, and played the Last Post and Reveille live for everyone who attended.
In preparation for the special day, residents produced their own poppies which are on display hanging from a tree inside the home.
Home Manager, Louise Moore, said of the day: “Each year staff and residents at The Coombs make sure they pay respect to those who have sacrificed so much for us all – and this year was no different.”
“I’d like to say a big thank you to Coleford Baptist Church and Kristyann for taking the time to visit the home. They added a special touch to a very moving service.”
The handmade poppies made by residents at The Coombs will stay on display in the home for anyone who would like to call in and have a look.
