Beautiful shrubs and plants kindly donated to Spencer Court from nearby Blenheim Palace
Cindy, Dorte and Hilary plant donated shrubs
Blenheim Palace’s Head Gardener made a special visit to a Woodstock care home to help plant a selection of donated flowering shrubs.
Hilary Wood was joined by staff and residents from Spencer Court as she planted the lavender bushes, hebes and penstemons in the care home’s extensive gardens.
Spencer Court is situated a stone's throw from Blenheim Palace in Woodstock.
Spencer Court Home Manager, Dorte Chandler, said: “I would like to say thank you to Hilary and her team on behalf of all the staff and residents for the kind donation of the garden shrubs.
“As the weather warms up our residents will be spending more times in their gardens and will enjoy seeing these plants and shrubs grow.”
In addition to the donated shrubs Hilary has also volunteered to build new herb planters for the home.
“As someone who spends much of their time surrounded by plants and flowers I know very well what a positive impact they have on our wellbeing and I was delighted to have the opportunity to provide a selection of flowering shrubs for the residents and staff at Spencer Court to enjoy,” said Hilary.
“Gardening and horticulture is such an inclusive activity that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and backgrounds and anything which helps to spread that positive message is to be welcomed,” she added.
