Big Garden Bird watch at Rodley House
Rodley House in Lydney are taking part in RSPB Big Garden Bird Watch which runs from 28th – 30th January
RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch is for everyone, whether you're a complete beginner or a birding expert. RSPB want you to simply count the birds you see in your garden, from your balcony or in your local park for one hour between 28th and 30th January.
Rodley House have been preparing for the bird watch for many weeks by making their own bird boxes, squirrel feeders, bug hotels and hedgehog houses.
Their Handy Person, Paul, has been busy cutting up wood and preparing the bird box kits for the residents to put together in the woodwork workshops. Paul then put the nesting boxes up in the garden in designated spots to attract the birds.
Rodley House are hoping to see lots of squirrels and even a few hedgehogs too!
Dawn, Activities Co-ordinator at Rodley House, said “Our residents really enjoyed our woodwork sessions, they enjoy making things for the garden, we all spend a lot of time in the garden, and it will be great to see some more wildlife”.
