Bury St Edmunds Care Home employee wins Carer of the Year in Trust Awards
Caroline Scott, at Oxlip House in Bury St Edmunds wins Carer of the Year, Lincs
Carer, Caroline Scott, at Oxlip House in Bury St Edmunds has been chosen as Carer of the Year in The Orders of St John Care Trust (OSJCT) Shining Stars Employee Awards 2020. The Trust, which employs over 5,200 staff across its homes and offices selected 48 winners from a shortlist of 129 finalists.
Caroline, who joined the Trust in October 2018 was nominated for being a dedicated carer, supporting residents and staff. Caroline takes an active role in recruiting new staff. She is popular with staff and residents and has earned the affectionate nickname ‘Pocket Rocket’.
Caroline said: “I was shocked and very pleased, I love everything about my job, we all work as a close-knit team and help each other out when we can.”
Care Assistant, Jemma Beacroft was also recognised in the Awards, as a finalist in the Newcomer of the Year category.
The Extra Care Housing Scheme had a small celebration in October.
OSJCT Oxlip House, Domiciliary Care Manager, Tara Barber, said: “This was a fabulous achievement by both ladies and thoroughly deserved.
“Well done to both of you from the whole care team and clients of Oxlip House.”
