Inspirational volunteers and employees from OSJCT care homes and services in Wiltshire, were celebrated at an awards ceremony held at the Bowood Hotel, Calne, earlier this month.

Over 70 guests attended the 2022 Trust Recognition Awards ceremony for Wiltshire. Mike Stredder, Operations Director and Jacqui Roynon, Head of People shared the role of Master of Ceremonies, with Dan Hayes, Chief Executive giving the opening address. Awards were presented by Dan Hayes and Mark Everall, Chair of Trustees.

Candidates for the Trust Recognition Awards are nominated by colleagues, residents and friends of care homes. Nominations were judged by a panel and finalists invited to the awards, where award winners were presented with trophies.

Matt Jones, Wiltshire Regional Director, said: "All our employees work very hard and are committed to reaching and maintaining the highest standard of care for our residents. This award ceremony gave special recognition to those who have been nominated by their colleagues for their endeavours. It was delightful to celebrate individual and team successes together.”

Outstanding Community Engagement Award

The Empowerment Award

Unsung Hero of the Year

  • Marie Gormley, Care Leader, Willowcroft
  • Simon Adams, Volunteer, Seymour House, Chippenham

The Ferrers Innovation Award was awarded to the Wiltshire North Cluster Managers, Andy Wood, Dean Palfrey, Amanda Palfrey, Debbie Scammell and Kamila Bevan. They devised and implemented a new initiative, a ‘Mile-A Thon’ for residents and staff at Athelstan House, Goodson Lodge, Marden Court, Ridgeway House, Seymour House and The Cedars, to collectively walk the distance between John O Groats and Land’s End, approximately 604 miles.

The Chairman’s Commendation Awards for Meritorious Service were presented to six employees:
