Charity Abseil

A care home manager from Wiltshire is preparing to face her biggest fear, all in the name of charity.

Those who know Carol, Home Manager at OSJCT Buckland Court, Amesbury and Willowcroft, Salisbury know two things to be true: she is absolutely petrified of heights, and she is never one to shy away from a challenge. So, in true Carol fashion, she has signed up to abseil 160 feet down King Alfred’s Tower this April to raise money for SOS Africa.

SOS Africa is a charity dedicated to supporting vulnerable children by providing safe homes, access to education, and long-term hope for a brighter future. Carol is taking on this daring challenge to help raise vital funds and awareness for the charity’s life-changing work.

Colleagues, residents, families, and the wider community are being encouraged to support Carol by donating, sponsoring, and sharing her fundraising efforts.

“Facing my fear is nothing compared to the challenges these children face every day,” Carol said. “If doing this helps give them safety, education, and opportunity, then it’s absolutely worth it.”

Supporters are invited to cheer Carol on and perhaps keep some chocolate handy.

“If you see her clinging to the wall,” Carol laughed, “please send chocolate!”

Anyone wishing to donate or sponsor Carol is encouraged to do so and help make a real difference to the lives of vulnerable children.
