Carers’ Pamper Day
Goodson invites those who care for relatives in the local community to a Pamper Day!
The team at Goodson Lodge recently opened the doors to anyone in the local community who is caring for someone they love and invited them into the home for a day of pampering.
As a carer, it is really important to find some time for yourself, to re-charge your batteries so that you have the energy to do the things that you enjoy and to carry on caring.
So, with the help of Carer Support Wiltshire, four carers came along for the day and enjoyed a manicure, followed by a relaxing hand and arm massage. One lady enjoyed a face mask whilst having her nails done.
And of course, no pamper day would be complete without a slice of cake – and even some bubbles. The delicious cakes were made by home manager, Annette.
And in the afternoon, some of the residents joined in and enjoyed a nail polish too.
Our guests had a wonderfully relaxing time, commenting:
“I look after my mum as a full-time carer and you will never know how much this means just to have a bit of me time”.
Another said:
“I cannot believe this is a care home. It feels more like a family home with a beautiful atmosphere”.
The team were on hand to answer questions about Goodson Lodge and dementia.
The day was a resounding success and we are sure that there will be more dates soon. Watch this space!
