Carers’ Pamper Day
Athelstan invites those who care for relatives in the local community to a Pamper Day!
The team at Athelstan House recently opened the doors to anyone in the local community who is caring for someone they love and invited them into the home for a day of pampering.
As a carer, it is really important to find some time for yourself, to re-charge your batteries so that you have the energy to do the things that you enjoy and to carry on caring.
So, with the help of Carer Support Wiltshire, five local carers came along for the day and enjoyed a manicure, followed by a relaxing facial carried out by Kim, one of the activities team.
And of course, no pamper day would be complete without a cup of tea and a piece of cake to go with it!
Our guests had a wonderfully relaxing time, commenting:
“This was a kind invitation and gave me time to relax and return refreshed”.
“It’s great to feel supported and have someone focus on me and my needs”.
“I feel appreciated and less stressed”.
“Would love to come again!”
The team were on hand to answer questions about Athelstan House and dementia.
The day was a resounding success and we are sure that there will be more dates soon. Watch this space!
