Cherry Garth Care Home launches new Carers Café in partnership with Carers Bucks, offering support for carers in the local community.
The first session will take place on 7 April from 11:30am to 1:00pm, with the café running on the first Tuesday of every month thereafter.
The Carers Café has been designed as a welcoming and supportive space where people caring for an older loved one can take time to relax, meet others in similar situations and share experiences. Carers are encouraged to bring their loved ones along, who will be supported to take part in a gentle, meaningful activity, allowing carers time to enjoy a cup of tea and conversation.
Over time, the sessions will continue to develop, with plans to introduce helpful and practical information for carers, including guidance and support on topics that matter most when caring for a loved one.
By working in partnership with Carers Bucks, Cherry Garth aims to strengthen the support available to carers, combining local community connections with knowledge and experience.
Francisco Paes, Home Manager at Cherry Garth, said:
We know that caring for a loved one can be both rewarding and challenging. Our Carers Café is about creating a space where people feel welcome, supported and able to connect with others who understand what they are going through. By working with Carers Bucks, we can also offer carers access to trusted advice and ongoing support.
The initiative reflects Cherry Garth’s commitment to building strong community connections and ensuring carers feel recognised, supported and part of a wider network.
