Chestnut Court, a residential, nursing and dementia care home in Quedgeley, Gloucester, is pleased to announce it has been awarded a “Good” rating overall in its most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the independent health and social care regulator in England. 

The inspection, published on 13 January 2026, evaluated the care home across all five key CQC quality domains: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well‑led, with each area receiving a Good rating. This achievement reflects the consistent high standard of care provided to residents living at Chestnut Court, including older adults and individuals living with dementia. 

Chestnut Court is operated by The Orders of St John Care Trust (OSJCT) and is registered to deliver both personal and nursing care for up to 80 residents. 

Highlights from the CQC assessment include:

• Residents are supported in a safe and caring environment where staff demonstrate professionalism, compassion, and respect.
• The service ensures people’s needs are met promptly with suitably trained and sufficient staff on duty.
• Care plans are detailed, risk assessments are thorough, and the personalised support enables residents to maintain their dignity and independence.
• The leadership and management team have established effective systems that promote ongoing quality improvement and strong oversight.
