Chinese New Year at Chestnut Court
Residents and staff at Chestnut Court spent the day celebrating Chinese New Year
Residents and employees at Chestnut Court spent the day celebrating Chinese New Year throughout the home.
In preparation for the event, residents worked with the home’s Activity Coordinators, Ruth and Leah, to produce their very own Chinese New Year dragon which was taken on a tour of Chestnut Court.
The chefs at Chestnut Court put on a very special menu for the day which included some of the residents’ favourite Chinese dishes – including sweet and sour pork! Residents were also encouraged to try some new flavours as part of a taste tasting activity in the afternoon.
The home was decorated in various lanterns and bunting and employees dressed up for the occasion. The home also arranged for a singer to come into the home and keep up the celebratory atmosphere.
Home Manager at Chestnut Court, Jackie Wright, said: “Our residents and employees have had a brilliant day celebrating Chinese New Year at Chestnut Court.”
“Our dedicated Activity Coordinators do a fantastic job supporting the wellbeing of our residents with a varied and stimulating programme of activities.”
