Christmas Time at Patchett Lodge
This month at Patchett Lodge is going to full of festive fun for all to enjoy.
Here is a quick rundown of just some activities happening in the home this month.
In the first week of December, the residents enjoyed taking a trip into town to see all the local Christmas displays and join in the festivities. This was followed by a session of holiday reminiscence where each resident shared memories about holidays they have taken throughout the years, remembering all the good times they had with their families. The week's activities rounded off with a spot of baking, a few games of dominoes, and a chance for the residents to put their feet up and relax while watching a feel-good film.

The second week of December was set to be a tuneful one. The local chamber choir attended the home at the start of the week to delight the residents with some wonderful Christmas carols. This was followed by the final rehearsals for the Patchett Lodge choir, made up of staff, residents, and some family members.
Towards the end of the week, the local Methodist Church visited the home to give the residents a lovely Christmas service.
To round the week off, Patchett hosted its annual Christmas party for the residents, family members, and staff to enjoy. All the residents loved the entertainment so much, they got up and danced along. The Patchett Lodge choir then took to the stage to give a lovely performance of the carols they had been practicing all month long.
The party was then finished off with a lovely dinner for the residents and family members to enjoy.

With the penultimate week of December approaching fast, the home is still busy with activities for the residents to do. The start of the week will see the local primary school come to sing their Christmas carols to the residents.
The middle of the week will slow down slightly as the residents enjoy a Christmas movie night.
This will be followed by decorating the homemade Christmas cake, which was made earlier in the year by all the residents at Patchett Lodge.
The week will end with a fun Christmas quiz with both general questions and questions that the residents have prepared for the staff to answer.
On Christmas day, the residents will first check to see if Santa has been and then open all their presents. Later in the day, the residents will be enjoying a few sherries and mince pies as a Christmas day treat.
Boxing Day at Patchett Lodge will be a nice, relaxing day, as the residents will enjoy a movie marathon with all the old classics they know and love.
Towards the end of the week, the residents will review the resolutions they made for 2023 and make new ones for 2024 while also enjoying a festive cheese and wine night.
On New Year's Eve, the residents will enjoy a buffet tea and share a 2023 round-up with their loved ones and the team at Patchett Lodge.
