Commemorative ceremony at The Lakes Care Centre
The Lakes Care Centre in South Cerney held a special commemorative ceremony to celebrate the amazing work the team at The Lakes Care Centre have done during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The whole team came together for this special occasion where there was a planting of a commemorative pink hydrangea which they can watch blossom every year.
The ceremony included a minutes clapping as a way of thanks for all the hard work everyone has put in over the last few months and a minutes silence to remember those that have been lost across the trust and nationwide.
OSJCT, CEO Dan Hayes shared a letter with the team which was read out by Kirsty Jones, their Area Operations Manager at the ceremony, the letter was very moving and the team were very touched. In Dan’s words “You fought to save the lives of the heroes of a previous generation, and in doing so, you became the heroes of this one”.
The Lakes Care Centre have been very fortunate during the pandemic, the whole team have pulled together and have been doing all they can to keep the virus out.
Penny carpenter, Customer Relationship Manager said "We all felt that the speech really hit the right tone and to be honest, many of us found it truly moving".
