Community Afternoon Tea in Cirencester and South Cerney
The Lakes Care Centre has been supporting their local community in providing afternoon tea to older people at home.
Gloucestershire Older Persons Association and Age UK Gloucestershire started this initiative to combat loneliness and to spread some joy following these tricky times. The boxes comprised of an afternoon tea alongside a knitted wool bird which have been knitted by the residents at The Lakes Care Centre. The Lakes Care Centre also provided cream and jam to accompany the scones in the box and The Mill Kitchen in Cirencester provided some yummy biscuits, stamped with a message on each one.
Mandi Short, Home Manager at The Lakes Care Centre said “It has been great to be part of this initiative and to know we have spread some joy. We look forward to welcoming the local community to The Lakes Care Centre again soon”.
