A continued programme of stimulating activities at Windsor Street Care Centre
Our dedicated Activities Co-ordinators have pulled out all the stops to ensure residents continue to enjoy a wide variety of activities.
Over the past year, care homes have had to deal with many different challenges. One of these challenges has been finding a way to deliver a programme of activities with the restrictions currently in place.
Jess and Katie are the Activities Co-ordinators at Windsor Street, their role is to support the wellbeing of residents with a stimulating and varied programme of activities.
Throughout these challenging times, Jess and Katie have drawn huge praise for their creative solutions to delivering activities for residents at Windsor Street and this has continued into the New Year.
Over the last few weeks, Jess and Katie have introduced a Weekly Windsor Street Quiz with different household bubbles competing against each other. This has proven extremely popular around the home and has contributed to the fantastic community spirit within the home.
As well as this, Windsor Street has been making the most of modern technology by arranging virtual calls for activities with groups who would usually be able to come into the home. The Gloucestershire Academy of Music have joined Windsor Street and local schools in weekly calls for various musical activities within the home.
Jess and Katie have also arranged for the company Oomph to hold virtual wellbeing sessions with residents to help with physical and mental wellbeing during this time.
Marzanna Urbaniak, Home Manager at Windsor Street, said: “Just like all the team at Windsor Street, Katie and Jess have gone above and beyond to support our residents at this time. They have found creative solutions to ensure our residents get to enjoy an activity programme tailored to the interests of residents.”
