A private dining room in a care home is more than just a “nice-to-have” facility; it serves as an important social hub for our residents, reinforcing connections with friends and family, and enhancing their quality of life. Being able to host a party or event at their new home, just as they might have done before moving to Coombe End Court, is such an important part of life here and it goes far beyond having the private space.

The availability of a private dining room offers residents the opportunity to maintain a sense of autonomy and independence. Being able to book and personalise the space for their events provides an element of control over their social interactions and gatherings. Our friends and family are so important to us all and being able to continue to invite people round is a big part of maintaining continuity. 

Socialising is important for our emotional and mental well-being, and we’ve found since we created this space on our first floor that we’re able to help residents foster a sense of belonging. This space allows residents to host gatherings of their own, and strengthen their social ties. It becomes a venue for celebrations, intimate gatherings, and cherished moments with loved ones, which can significantly enhance the residents' emotional wellbeing and overall happiness.

Our room seats eight comfortably and it’s available for anything from a tea party for a grandchild’s birthday, through to dinner for a special anniversary, or for no reason at all other than fancying a bit of a do. The personalised service provided by our catering team adds to the occasion. We’ll discuss all requirements with our residents, and then they can leave it to us! 

We’re also able to use our private dining room to host events for our residents, promoting inclusivity and community within our care home. Residents can come together in smaller groups and make use of the dedicated space to create memories and build on the sense of community at Coombe End Court.
