Dates for your diary! New ways to get involved at Lake House
The residents and team at Lake House in Adderbury love to welcome the community into the home, and there are now more ways than ever for people to get involved.
In addition to its monthly coffee mornings, this summer the home hosted its annual summer fete which was attended by lots of local families and relatives of the residents, and a teddy bears’ picnic which welcomed a local parent and toddler group to enjoy the home’s large gardens.
Don’t worry if you missed out in the summer because Lake house has a lot of events lined up this autumn and winter, including the following monthly events:
Gents’ Club
- First Tuesday of the month
- 10.30am-12.00pm
An opportunity for gents to meet like-minded people in a relaxed atmosphere. The activities will range from garden games, music events, film screenings, pub quizzes, board games and some simple DIY projects. Suggested donation: £2 towards materials
Knit and Knatter
- Second Wednesday of the month
- 10.30am-12.00pm
We will be starting some small projects that will benefit residents within the home but that will also bring you some joy too! Tea, coffee and cake will be available. Suggested donation: £2 towards materials.
Coffee Mornings
- Last Friday of the month
- 10.30am-12.00pm
Join us for a chat along with tea, coffee and delicious cake. Suggested donation: £2 (all money raised goes towards the residents’ amenities fund).
In addition, the home will be holding a number of fun seasonal events and everyone is welcome:
- Fireworks display - Saturday 2nd November, 5.30pm-7.00pm
- Christmas Singalong – Friday 13th December, 10.30am-12.00pm
If you cannot make any of these events but would still like to get involved at the home, perhaps you might like to volunteer at Lake House on days that suit you. Find out how to apply here.
Everyone at Lake House looks forward to welcoming you soon!
