Dawn, Activities Coordinator at Rodley House hailed a Shining Star in Trust Awards 2021
Dawn joined Rodley House just over a year ago and she has been an inspiration to the home over that time.
Dawn has boundless energy and does something different with the residents every day. She empowers them to try something new, gives them the confidence to do things that they feel proud of and ensures lots of smiles and laughter all the time. Dawn has helped embed Rodley House in the community and has enhanced the teambuilding by organising events.
Rodley House hosted a special award ceremony to celebrate their award-winning Activities Coordinator. The award was presented in the home by the Home Manager, Lynne Gardener, who also went on to say a few words about Dawn.
Lynne said “Dawn has made a huge difference to the lives of the residents, her happy personality, her dedication to her work, her enthusiasm and her brilliant organising skills have had a huge impact on all of us. Dawn has the ability to lift everyone and take us with her. We are so lucky to have her in our team and I am so pleased that she has chosen to work at Rodley House”.
In the time Dawn has worked at Rodley House she has organised a 24-hour cycle ride to raise funds for charity. She has organised and implemented the new sensory garden and she has supported residents to keep in touch with their loved ones during the last year.
Dawn said “I am delighted, overwhelmed and honoured to have won this award. I love working for OSJCT and at Rodley House and I feel privileged to come here every day and make the residents and my colleague’s smile. It is a privilege and joy to be a part of Rodley house”.
A huge congratulations to the other finalists too, Heather Edmunds, finalist in the 'Office Support of the year', Sara Worgan in the 'Leader of the year' category and Bethany Gould, in the 'Volunteer of the year' category. Very well deserved!
