Duo at Chippenham care home hailed as Shining Stars in Trust Awards 2020

Dawn Walburton and Marilyn Adams from OSJCT Seymour House in Chippenham have been selected as winners in OSJCT Shining Stars Employee Awards 2020. The Trust, which employs over 5,200 staff across its homes and offices selected 48 winners from a shortlist of 129 finalists.
Care Home Manager, Dawn Walburton, has been chosen as OSJCT Leader of the Year 2020, Wiltshire, and Marilyn Adams as OSJCT Volunteer of the Year 2020, Wiltshire.
Dawn, who joined the Trust in 2006 was nominated for her energy and continuous support for her team members and residents. She was praised for being a very caring and person-centred manager.
On receiving the Award, Dawn said: “I am extremely grateful for nominations and being selected as Leader of the year. At Seymour House we have a slogan ‘Teamwork makes the dream work.’ My team and residents make achievement possible.”
Volunteer Marilyn was nominated for her dedication to the care home, helping with trips and empowering resident to enjoy their lives at Seymour House. She has been fully involved with activities in the home, by doing gardening, helping residents with knitting Christmas characters, and decorating a ‘Halloween Christmas’ tree last year.
Janet Pannell, Area Operations Director, Wiltshire, and a member of the judging panel, said: “I would like to thank Dawn and Marilyn for their wonderful contribution and congratulate them on winning these awards. It is so important to celebrate and recognise the wonderful achievements of colleagues from across Wiltshire, each and everyone have gone out of their way to improve the lives of those living in our homes. We absolutely appreciate and value their contribution.”
The care home had a small staff only Awards celebration in October.
